Our first Thanksgiving in CT

When we started house hunting a couple months ago, a flow that was good for entertaining was at the top of our wish list. We love having friends and family over, and our last house was challenging to host in. When I showed my mom our new house one of the first things she said was “Your hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas!”, and I gladly said yes!

Hosting a holiday 2 weeks after moving into a house is no joke. We had to find and buy a dining room table, chairs, counter stools, area rugs, more plates, glasses, and silverware! I wanted it to be a warm and cozy thanksgiving so we worked really hard to hang pictures on the wall, I painted the dining room, we got new shades for the windows. All while we had a painter here daily (and he is currently still here during the week) removing wallpaper and painting the trim! Phew! Needless to say, it was a crazy busy two weeks getting all of this done and keeping up with daily chores and taking care of my babies.

We are so grateful that we were able to have our family over and warm our new house!

I thought it would be encouraging for everyone to write down a few things we love about each other on these little place settings. And of course the boys of the family couldn’t take it seriously and made fun of each other haha. But all in all I hope it was encouraging for people, I know I was encouraged!

My brother. No he is not actually cross eyed. He just can’t take anything seriously these days!

We ended the night by all sitting in our living room and playing a fun game together. Its memories like these that I hope one day we will look back on and cherish. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well!
